This year Chicago White Metal Casting, Inc. will celebrate an anniversary that very few corporations ever see. The company is turning 75 years old. Started in Chicago in 1937, CWM has evolved over the years to meet the ever-changing needs of their clients in many different industries. The consistent theme through all the years and all the changes has been “excellence is expected.” CWM is well known for excellence in precision die casting of zinc, magnesium, and aluminum.
In February 2012 Baselodge Group became the sales representatives for Chicago White Metal in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. This relationship is new in one way, but in a real sense we are continuing the long-term relationship between T-Tec Sales (Homer Thomas) and CWM. Last month we attended the National Sales Meeting at CWM’s Bensenville, IL headquarters. VP of Sales and Marketing Jon Miller and his staff (including Sandy Winkelman and Dan Jacobson) put together a very informative program of presentations by CWM personnel in many different departments. We learned about exciting new capital investment into production equipment and QA systems. We also got a nice tour of the factory.
It was also very helpful to us to get to know the other rep groups that represent CWM in different parts of the country. We were able to hear presentations by each of them and to learn about their unique approaches to their markets. We felt this was a very valuable part of the meeting.
One highlight of the sales meeting is always the CWM company picnic. CEO Eric Treiber spoke to the employees, suppliers, and sales reps about the significance of CWM’s 75th anniversary. He honored the hard work of all the people who have made the company successful for over seven decades. Also in attendance was Walter Treiber, the chairman of CWM, whose steady hand has guided CWM for many years.
As Baselodge continues the CWM and T-Tec legacy, we are honored to be offering the services of such a great organization to the customers in our territory. We look forward to working with Jon and his staff to serve existing customers in our territory and to find new customers for CWM’s services. Thanks again to the entire CWM staff for such an effective program!
